Try Sample Miner free for 30 days before you spend anything. If you buy it and it is not right for you, email us within 14 days and we will refund you. One refund per customer. Refunded licences are deactivated.
That is the whole policy. The rest of this page is the detail.
1. Use the trial first
Sample Miner is sold by NOVATE.AI LLC. It is a downloadable macOS application with a free 30-day trial, and the trial is the complete product, not a limited version. It does not ask for a card. After the 30 days, browsing and auditioning your library stay free permanently and only exporting needs a licence, so you can keep evaluating it for as long as you want.
Thirty days on your own machine, with your own library, tells you far more than any refund policy can. Please use the trial to confirm that the Software runs on your Mac, that it handles your files, and that it exports to the sampler you actually own. Everything below assumes you had that chance.
2. The refund window
You may request a refund within 14 days of purchase, for any reason. You do not have to justify yourself, and we will not put you through a support gauntlet first. If something is broken we would love the chance to fix it, but that is an offer, not a condition.
After 14 days, purchases are final. The combination of a 30-day trial beforehand and a 14-day window afterwards is 44 days to decide, which we think is fair to both of us.
3. How to ask
Email sampleminer@novate.ai from the address you bought with, or use the receipt from our payment provider. Include your order number if you have it. Tell us anything you want us to know about why, or do not. We approve or decline within 5 business days.
Approved refunds go back to the original payment method through Lemon Squeezy, our payment provider and merchant of record. We do not issue refunds by any other route, and we cannot send money to a different card, account or person. How long it takes to appear is up to your bank, usually 5 to 10 business days.
4. What a refund does to your licence
A refund ends the licence. When it is issued your licence key is deactivated, and you must stop using Sample Miner and remove it from your machines.
Files you already exported stay yours, and we will not chase you for them. We are not going to pretend we can claw back instruments that are already in your projects. But the licence is over, and buying again later is a new purchase at the then-current price.
5. What we do not refund
We would rather name these up front than surprise you with them later.
- Requests after 14 days. The window is the window.
- A second refund. One refund per customer, household or business, ever. If you have been refunded once, a later purchase is final.
- Bulk conversion followed by a refund request. We may decline where the use pattern shows the purchase was made to extract output rather than to evaluate the Software. Converting a large library and then asking for the money back is not a change of mind, and we will treat it as what it is.
- Features that have not shipped. Anything described as planned, coming or on the roadmap is intent, not a promise. Buying in the hope of a future feature is not grounds for a refund, and neither is that feature arriving later than you hoped.
- Hardware or software you do not have. Supported export formats and system requirements are published on this site and testable in the trial. We cannot refund because you bought it for a sampler you do not own, or a macOS version we do not support.
- Problems outside the Software. Source audio that is corrupt, DRM-protected, or that you do not have the rights to. Third-party samplers, plugins, hosts or operating systems changing their behaviour.
- Licences obtained through a giveaway, review copy, press licence, bundle or promotion, where nothing was paid to us.
- Purchases where the licence key has been shared, resold or published, or where licence checking has been tampered with.
Nothing in this section overrides a right you have under mandatory consumer law. See section 6.
6. Statutory rights
This policy sits on top of the law, it does not replace it. If your local consumer law gives you a better right than the one above, you have that right and we will honour it.
If you are a consumer in the EU or the UK, you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a distance purchase. For digital content delivered immediately, that right is lost once delivery begins if you expressly consented to immediate delivery and acknowledged the loss of the right. Our checkout asks you to do exactly that, because your download and licence key are issued straight away. In practice this makes no difference to you: the 14-day refund window in section 2 gives you the same period regardless.
If you are in Australia, our goods come with guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded, including a right to a refund for a major failure.
7. Chargebacks
Please email us before contacting your bank. We are one person and an email address, not a support maze, and a refund is faster than a dispute.
If you file a chargeback instead, your licence is deactivated immediately and permanently, and we will contest the dispute with the purchase and delivery records. We may decline to sell to you in future. If a chargeback is filed after we have already refunded you, we will provide that evidence to the card network.
8. Duplicate and mistaken purchases
If you bought twice by accident, or bought the wrong item, email us. We will refund the extra order without counting it against the one-refund limit in section 5. This is an error, not a return.
9. Changes
We may update this policy by changing this page and the date at the top. The version in force on the day you bought governs your purchase, so a later change cannot take away a refund right you already had.
